Prerequisites

In general: algorithmic thinking and mathematical maturity will be assumed

• Material is mostly theoretical/algorithmic/mathematical in nature
• Mathematical maturity (calculus, linear algebra, probability, basic algorithms) is expected
• Be familiar with basics of ML, basics of convex optimization (at the level of “Intro to Machine Learning” or equivalent)

Requirements

• (20%) Attendance & participation
• (40%) Home assignments (about 4 in total, submission in teams of 2-3)
• (40%) Final assignment (choice of home exam / research project)
